Lorraine Helen (Grant) Livick, 95, of Staunton, VA , widow of Clarence T. Livick completed her earthly life and began her journey to Life Eternal in the Heavenly Kingdom, May 13, 2021.
She was born on August 8, 1925, the much-loved only daughter of Charles Berry and Hattie Helen (Campbell) Grant near Montebello, Virginia and sister to 5 endearing brothers.
Despite her short stature, she had a big heart, was full of life, and had a spitfire personality forged by a double dose of hard-working Scottish mountain ancestry, in whom she took great pride.
As a woman of great faith, she joyfully served for 39 years as the Primary Three Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church in Staunton, VA.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Livick-Moses, of Staunton, grandchildren, Bonnie and William Opyoke of Palmra, VA, John (J.T.) and Sarah Livick-Moses of Roslindale, MA, two great grandchildren, Abigail and Noah Opyoke, a sister-in-law, Emma Louise (Gilbert) Grant, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life in Christ will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Steve Traylor. The burial service will follow at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton.
Pallbearers will b J.T. Livick-Moses, William Opyoke, Rick Grant, Berry Grant, Donnie Hevener, and Dwayne Hylton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy, Gene, Roy, Tim, Charles, and Clint Grant, Ed Waitier and Claude Smith.
The family desires to humbly thank the entire staff of both the Brookdale Senior Living Community and Kindred Hospice for their outstanding love, care, and attention given to Lorraine.
