LOU C. KURTZ LYNCHBURG, VA Lou Eva (Cason) Kurtz, 82, died peacefully at her home in Lynchburg, VA on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Family and friends affectionately called her "Pete," a nickname given to her by her daddy as a little girl. Ms. Kurtz was retired from the Staunton Steam Laundry, where she worked for over 30 years. She was most proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and she adored her beloved dog, Honey, who passed away last year. She loved dancing, reading, cooking and listening to music, especially George Jones. Her feisty loving spirit will be missed. Ms. Kurtz is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Agnes Cason; her brother, Robert Cason; her sisters, Mamie Arehart, Dorothy Cason, Shirley Wolfe, and Mattie Avery; and her son, Warren P. "Butchie" Koogler, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and David Chrisman, Jr. of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, David A. Chrisman III, Ryan Chrisman Moody and her husband, Brian, all of Lynchburg, Denee Kincaid of Waynesboro and Kim Muzziolli of Acton, MA; her brother, Charles Cason, Jr. and wife, Lorraine, of Arizona; her sister, Ruth and husband, Tom Weller; her sister, Mary and husband, Charlie Joyce, all of Staunton; three great-grandchildren, Ashby Moody and Jake and Justin Wheeler; countless nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and an honorary granddaughter, Angel Worrell. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel with the burial to follow at Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family members, Gary Hoover, David King, Randy Armstrong, Quinn Armstrong, Ricky Swisher, and Brandon Mawyer.
