Mamie K. Redman, 79, widow of Harry G. "Mick" Redman, Sr., (married 46 years) passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton. Mamie was born on February 8, 1944, in Pendleton County, WV to the late Collie Roosevelt Moats and Margaret Josephine Scott Moats.
Mamie lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community. Throughout her life, Mamie found joy in helping others and brightening their lives through her selfless acts of kindness.
One of the many ways Mamie expressed her caring nature was through her volunteer work at Trinity Episcopal Church. Mamie's devotion to her church extended beyond volunteering; she also worked with the Noon Lunch Program at Trinity Episcopal Church, ensuring that everyone had a warm meal and a welcoming place to gather.
In addition to her passion for serving others, Mamie had a love for all types of music.
Mamie is survived by her daughter, Vicki Reed (Timm); her sons, Matthew Redman and Harry Redman Jr.; her sisters, Iva Melzenia Moats Shupe, Wilma J. Moats Bishop, Pamela Inez Moats Redman, and Alberta Dorothy Moats Alt; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Harrison Moats, David Terry Moats, and Thomas Andrew Moats and her sisters, Anna Belle Moats and Althea Celeste Robinson.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Mamie's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton by Reverend William "A.J." Heine.
She will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of Mamie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Laryngectomee Club of Montgomery County (checks made to LMC, c/o Herb Simon, 3114 Gracefield Rd., Apt. #301, Silver Spring, MD 20904).
