Mary V. Bower

Mrs. Mary (Via) Bower, 84, wife of Fred McRae Bower, of 307 Arbordale Loop, Williamsburg, previously of Fishersville, died Friday, May 12, 2023 at her residence.

She was born on August 23, 1938 in Augusta County, the daughter of the late E. Austin and M. Kathleen (Hulvey) Via.

Mrs. Bower was employed by various corporations until she retired in 2002. She was member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren.

In addition to her husband of 66 plus years, she is survived by two sons, Douglas M. Bower of Swoope and Troy A. Bower; her daughter-in-law, Tammy C. Bower of Williamsburg; and a grandson, Tadd Austin Bower of Virginia Beach. Special friends, Velda Zirk and Tammy Warren.

A graveside service will be conducted at noon on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Janet and Pastor Henry Elsea.

Active pallbearers are Kenton Bower, Trent Bower, Brett Bower, Jeff Bower, Michael Moneymaker, and Chris Martin.
