Maudie Delores Arey Lipes, 75, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at River Edge and Nursing in Waynesboro.
She was born on February 5, 1949, in Waynesboro to the late Robert Henry and Gladys Victory Tomes Arey.
Maudie dedicated many years of her life working at the Corning Ware Correlle Revere Factory Store in Williamsburg, VA., where she was known for her warm smile, dedication and friendly demeanor. Outside of her professional life she had a passion for bowling, often spending times at the local lanes. She also shared a deep love for her family, with whom she cherished every moment with.
She is survived by her husband, James McGuire Lipes, Sr.; her son, James “Jay” Lipes, Jr.; her brother, Lawrence Gene Arey; her step-sister, Jo Anne McMillan; her half-brother, Jeffrey Raymond Arey; her step-brother, John Wilbur McMIllian; her granddaughter, Jasmine Lipes and her fiancé Dave Critzer and a great grandson, Ryland Lipes.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepmother, Bessie Lee Fisher McMillan Arey; her brothers, Robert “Bob” Henry Arey, Jr., Grover Wayne Arey, and Thomas Austin Arey; her sister, Shirley Ann Arey Craig; her step-brother, Joesph Michael McMillan, step-sister, Pat McMIllian Via and a half-brother, Charles Christopher Arey.
There will be a celebration of life at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Forest Chapel Church in Crimora with Pastor David Stewart and Pastor Lawrence Gene Arey officiating.
