MAZIE C. MACE STAUNTON, VA Mazie C. Mace, 88, of 116 South Waverley Street, went home to her Lord Monday, October 24, 2011. Mazie was a beloved wife to Cecil L. Mace, who is survived by her. Mazie and Cecil were united in marriage for 68 years. Mazie was a very loving and giving woman and a devoted wife. She was fully committed to Christ and supported the church her whole life. She was a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and she loved all her children. Mazie leaves behind two special caregivers, Lisa Strawderman Harris and Dee Campbell Quick. She was preceded in her passing by her son, Michael L. Mace; her parents, John and Leola Carey; a brother, Troy: and two sisters, Lola and Inez. Mazie is survived by two sisters, Lucille Crowder of Millboro and Lottie Whitmore of Tennessee; and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wade Munford. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Doug Harris, Mel Fitzgerald, Lee Moyers, John Sayers, Dickie Fauver, and Tim Hanger. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, in the funeral home.
