Michael C. Thompson, 68, passed away at Augusta Nursing and Rehab on Thursday, July 7, 2022.
Michael as born on October 27, 1953 in Texarkana, Arkansas to James B. Thompson and Edna McLaughlin Thompson. Until his retirement in 2019, Michael worked in retail sales and as the night auditor for Dominion Lodging at the Best Western in Staunton. He was an active member of Pleasant View Lutheran Church.
Michael is survived by his siblings, Natta Wood, Sharon Cavazos (Paul), James Pope (Mary), Derrill Pope (Cheri), numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends, Jim Sheets, Becci Page, Roger Rasnick, Bill and Janet Braithwaite, and Ernie and Marcy Helmick.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Linda Staples and Shirley Pope.
A memorial service at Pleasant View Lutheran Church with burial following in the church cemetery will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 18, 2022. Pastor Kenneth Price and lay minister, Jim Sheets will conduct the service.
