Mitzi L. Hughes

Mitzi Lynn (Mays) Hughes, 54, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at her residence in Greenville.

She was born in Bristol, Virginia on April 4, 1969, to the late Walter Sherill and Beulah Beatriss Dawson Mays.

Mitzi's career as an RN spanned across various healthcare settings, including Augusta Health, Langley Airforce, and Home Health. Her compassion and dedication towards her patients left a lasting impact on all those she cared for. 

Beyond her professional life, Mitzi found great joy in exploring different places such as Williamsburg, VA, Pigeon Forge, TN., and the beach.  She loved spending time with family, which was most important to her.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Alexander Hughes; her sons, Nathaniel, Jared and Tristan; her sisters, Pamela Gail Mays Herman and Angela Joan Mays Turner.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister; Belinda Jo Mays Gubala.
