Mrs. Nancy Jane (Quinlan) Duncan went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2019. She was born March 19, 1928 in Buffalo, N.Y. She was the daughter of Cecil Serrins Quinlan and Leland Powers Quinlan and granddaughter of Mrs. Grace Elizabeth Gould Clark who raised her from the age of seven in Washington, D.C. She attended 37 schools while traveling with her Grandmother and skipped two grades and graduated from Central High School, Washington, D.C. She also attended Syracuse University and Eastern Mennonite University. She worked for the U.S. State Department Office of Intelligence, Syracuse University, James Madison University and Eastern Mennonite University. In her youth, she worked with young people through the S.E. Free Methodist Church in Washington, D.C. She held many church offices as Teacher, President of the “Young Peoples Missionary Society”, and as Conference Director of Evangelism. She received an Exhorters License in the Free Methodist Church and preached many sermons in churches in the Greater D.C., MD, and VA areas. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dale Duncan in 1971 and by her only daughter, Barbara Joy Duncan in 1982. She leaves to mourn; one son, David E. Duncan of Washington, D.C. and several special nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Burial will be private.
