Nancy Lee Moore passed away on February 15, 2021 at Augusta Health.
She was born August 21, 1925, in Staunton to Henry Howard Warren and Maude Elizabeth (Ballengee) Warren.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Claude and their youngest son, Matthew.
Nancy lived a long, enriched life, making a beautiful, welcoming home for her family and many friends. She always had the biggest smile and the kindest words for everyone.
She died leaving a note that I will share. “The greatest legacy I will leave in this world is the character I leave behind in my son and daughter and my five grandsons, whom I believe have made this world a better and definitely a more interesting place to live”.
Left to carry on for Nancy are her daughter, Vickie and her husband, Jack Scarborough; her son, Stephen; and her grandsons, Steven Eric Fisher (Kim) and daughter, Sophia, Travis Fisher (Holly) and sons, Luke and Clark, Nathan Moore (Kethera) and his mom, Gloria Dove, Dr. Daniel Moore (Jocelyn) and daughters, Eva, Zelie, and Lucia, and Joseph Moore (Hunter).
The First Baptist Church was a big part of Nancy’s life. We would like to thank her church family for their love and support throughout the years. The family wishes to especially thank her wonderful caregivers who took such good care of her this past year in her home. We called them “Team Nancy”. Thank you Dania Robinson Balsley, Gloria Dove, Jinx Conyers, Virgie Wilholt, and Gail Ferguson.
Due to COVID concerns the family will have a private service, followed by burial in Thornrose Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate “Nana”.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the
First Baptist Church, 406 West Frederick Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
