STUARTS DRAFT - Nelson Bee Meyerhoeffer, 84, husband of Georgia H. Meyerhoeffer, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Brookdale Staunton.
Nelson was born on June 11, 1938 in Augusta County to the late Wade and Delpha (Link) Meyerhoeffer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Bill Meyerhoeffer, Virginia “Ginny” Weaver, Ellen Drumheller, Martha Strole, and June Garrison.
Nelson thoroughly loved spending time with his family on the farm and he looked forward to family get-togethers at home and at the beach. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rita (Tommy French); three sons, Nelson, Jr., Jamie, and Dale (Michelle); a sister, Mildred Moore; grandchildren, Ashley (Tony Manilla), Natalie (Anthony Murray), Stella, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Easton and Logan; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Nelson had a lifelong strong work ethic. He retired in 1993 after 35 years at Dupont. Upon retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed farming, gardening and driving a school bus for Augusta County for twelve years. He was also active at Greenville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Henry Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:30 pm, Monday, June 27, 2022 at Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor David Ball. A Celebration of Life will be held following the graveside at 3:00 pm at Greenville Baptist Church.
Nelson’s family would like to thank Dr. Rob Marsh and his staff for the love and exceptional care they have given Nelson for 23 years. The family is grateful for all the neighbors, church family, and friends who have become like family during Nelson’s lifetime. Finally, the family appreciates Bob Corbin and the Henry Funeral Home staff for their care and comfort during a difficult time.
