Norma R. Mathis
Norma Jane (Rexrode) Mathis, 87, widow of Thomas "Tom" Odell Mathis, Jr., of Staunton passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Brookdale in Staunton.
Mrs. Mathis was born on August 15, 1935, daughter of the late Loy and Annie Rexrode.
She was a member of the Fishersville United Methodist Church in Fishersville. Norma enjoyed gardening, quilting and crafting.
She is survived by her four children, Ric Wheeler, Becky Marcum and her husband, James, Kelly Sellers and her husband, Scott, and Johnny Wheeler and his wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Paige Grimshaw, Erin Detwiler, Addison Herron-Wheeler, Matthew Chamberlain, and Forrest Wheeler; and great-grandchildren, Reese and Tegan Grimshaw, Georgia, Caroline and Evan Detwiler.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Fern Wintermyre, Vernon Rexrode, Ray Rexrode, Robert Rexrode and Stanley Rexrode.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:30 pm, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Fishersville United Methodist Church. A reception at the church will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fishersville United Methodist Church (P.O. Box 1049, Fishersville, VA, 22939).
