PARMER H. BRADLEY, SR. STAUNTON, VA Parmer Harding Bradley, Sr., 90, of Staunton, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 12, 1920 in Augusta County a son of the late Oakley Davis and Clair (Mohler) Bradley. Mr. Bradley was a veteran of World War II serving in the tank corp in the Battle of the Buldge in Germany. He attended Dunsmore Business College and studied at U.V.A. Prior to retirement, he was employed by E.I. DuPont with 47 years of service and helped to start two plants in Camden, SC and Charleston, SC. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Staunton. He was a member of the Staunton V.F.W. Post 2216, AARP. TPA, and the Barbershop Quartet. He loved golf, gardening, dancing, singing, and socializing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Propst Bradley. Surviving are a son, Parmer , Jr., and wife, Joan Bradley of Staunton; a daughter, Constance King and son-in-law, Ed King of Winchester; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and also a special friend, Elaine Shifflet. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011, in the Old Providence ARP Church by the Rev. John Morrison of Winchester and Rev. H. Max Bolin. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Staunton V.F.W. Post 2216. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. Active pallbearers will be Jeff King, Bo Bradley, Warren Bradley, Lenny Phillips, Tim Jacobson, Mike Davis, Joe Mader, Frank Lambert, Dwayne Huewe, and Troy Adler.
