Patricia Ann Hiner

Patricia Ann Guffey Hiner, 68, peacefully passed away at her residence in Staunton on Monday, October 9, 2023.

She was born in Staunton on December 23, 1954 to the late Basil Arrie and Clara Lillian Slayton Guffey, Sr. 

She was a former environmental service worker with H&R Contractors in Staunton.

Patricia had a strong faith and was an active member of the LifePointe Christian Church Thursday Night Zoom group.

Beyond her professional and religious commitments, Patricia cherished her role as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored spending time with her family and delighted in engaging in fun activities with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchild held a special place in her heart. In addition to her family ties, Patricia had a deep affection for her grand-dog named "Oliver."

Patricia is survived by her loving children, Randall Christopher Hiner and Carla Nicole Luders with her husband, Andrew. She is also survived by her brothers, Basil Arrie Guffey Jr. with his wife, Tina and Joseph Wayne Guffey with his wife, Deborah; her grandchildren, Keerstin Kayla Christina Hiner, Corbyn Arik Bryant, and Brooklyn Arianna Nicole Bryant; her great-grandchild, Genevive Nicola Michelle Garner; and her special friends, Sandra Smith, Donna Hilbert, and Michelle Caplette.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Randall Lynn Hiner and a brother, Roy Eugene Guffey.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at her residence, 630 Grubert Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401.

It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial donations to the Augusta Regional SPCA (P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, VA 24402).
