PAULINE L. ALLEY WAYNESBORO, VA.. Pauline Virginia (Liskey) Alley, 98, widow of Cecil Webster Alley, formerly of Old Laurel Hill Road, Verona, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Oak Grove Manor, Waynesboro, where she had been a resident since February of 2008. She was born August 22, 1913, in Rockingham County, a daughter of the late Perry Joseph and Sadie Mae (Wampler) Liskey. Mrs. Alley was a member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Theron, Alvin, Cletus, Marvin, DeRay, Cleo, and Bill; and a sister, Lucy Mennes Perry. Family members include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jane A. Gordon of Staunton, Mae A. and Bob Carlstrom of Verona, Joyce A. and Larry Wade of Barren Ridge, and Nancy A. and Scott Hildebrand of New Hope; a sister, Ethel Ringgold of Bridgewater Home; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Dana Wade, Pamela C. and Matthew Diemer, Alan Gordon, Matthew and Karen Wade, Robin C. and Alan Oglesby, Jennifer W. and B. J. Cook, Joseph and Jennifer Hildebrand, and David and Heather Hildebrand; and seventeen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday (August 28, 2011) at Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren (1790 Barren Ridge Road, Staunton) by the Rev. Galen Combs, assisted by the Rev. Robert E. Alley. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. There will be no public viewing. Active pallbearers will be her Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Seekers Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Church and also anytime at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mae and Bob Carlstrom, 1116 Laurel Hill Road, Verona.
