Phillip A. Ramsey, 60, of Verona, died Friday, July 30, 2021 at his residence.
He was born October 11, 1960 in Staunton, a son of the late John Elvin and Madeline (Lanning) Ramsey.
He loved NASCAR, country music, watching westerns, and Adam 12 on MeTV.
He is survived by one aunt, Helen Ramsey and family of Ovideo, Florida.
He is also survived by too many cousins to name. These are a few that were able to visit him, Sherry Ramsey and Grant Aleksander, Helen and Garland Brooks, Sheila Brooks, Lisa and Bill Hott, Janice Johnson, Julie Ellenger, Dylan Moore, Carroll Conner, Sandy Rowe, Jr. Conner, Betty Natale, Patricia and Landon Coffey, John Conner, and Jean Bocock, who loved to dance with him when she visited him at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center. We wish to thank his friend at the Augusta Nursing, Nancy who stayed in touch after he left Augusta Nursing, to the staff of Augusta Nursing Home who loved him, thank you.
His neighbors and friends, Ernie Nuckols and extended family who had him for holidays and dinners. And his neighbor, Sandy Peters, and his girlfriends from Crossroads, thank you for being there. His friends, Dale Cook and Lucy Baber who visited and called him afterwards. A special thanks to Nicole Schumach and Teresa Fisher who went above and beyond to make his life better. Last, but not least, the family who took him in as a loved family member; Susan Waggy and her family and friends, Gabby, David, Melissa, Kevin, Christal, Phyliss and Leo the cat, thank you.
One more thing, Phillip was like a small star hidden behind the moon, but when he stepped out from behind the moon, his star shined so bright.
When we look up into the night sky, I know that the brightest star will be Phillip and we can all say, shine on brother, shine on.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Thornrose Cemetery by the Rev. Russell Heinrich.
