Rebecca Jean (Drega) Williams

Rebecca Jean (Drega) Williams passed away on December 29, 2016 after a battle with multiple myeloma for nearly nine years.

Becky was born on May 4, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland the daughter of the late Raymond Joseph and Joyce Lazelle Drega. She was married to James Williams--a blessed union of more than 30 years.

Becky was employed with the Staunton Police Department as an E-911 Dispatcher from 1983 until 1992 and also served as a reserve police officer with the Staunton Police Department.

She is survived by the lights of her life, children Jonathan Ashby Williams, David Kyle Williams and Erin Leigh Williams. She is also survived by her step-mother, Helen Corbin-Drega. Additional survivors include a brother, Joseph, his wife Tammy and their son Joshua of Staunton, parents-in-law Mick and Carole Williams of Staunton, brother and sister-in-law Mick and Cindy Williams of Jonesborough, Tennessee, nephews Joshua Daniel and his wife Rachael of Augusta, Georgia, Seth Allen Williams, wife Anna and their daughter Abigail Grace of Cookeville, Tennessee, a niece Stephanie Carol Epperson and husband Daniel of Johnson City, Tennessee.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held on 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church in Staunton officiated by Pastor Bobby Campbell. Burial will follow at Thornrose Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Mick Williams, Joshua Williams, Seth Williams, Mark Harlow, Eric Salemi, and Jeremy Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Staunton Police Department.

The family will receive friends other times at the residence at 205 Earl Street, Staunton. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Henry Funeral Home.
