Robert Washington Davis, Jr., 86, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at his residence, in Staunton.
He was born on December 8, 1938, in Augusta County to the late Robert Washington, Sr. and Elizabeth Mae Smiley Davis.
Robert lived a life deeply rooted in the values of hard work and connection to the land.
For many years, Robert embraced his passion for agriculture, spending countless hours working as a farmer. His love for farming was not just a profession; it was a way of life that brought him joy and fulfillment.
In addition to his endeavors in farming, Robert demonstrated remarkable versatility throughout his career. He built houses as a contractor, showcasing not only his skill but also his dedication to providing homes for others. His time working in a print shop further exemplified his hardworking nature.
Robert attended Victory Worship Center and was also a valued member of Mt. Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he not only attended services, but served as the former treasurer.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Christine Link Davis; his son, Robert Timothy Davis and his wife, Fonda; his daughters, Andrea Davis Thurston and Cynthia Davis Heizer and her husband, Keith; his brother, William Edward Davis and his wife, Julie; his grandchildren, Jeremy and Brittany Heizer; and his sister-in-law, Diane Davis.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Gayland Randolph Davis.
All funeral services will be private.
