Robert Edgar Mcchesney

ROBERT E. MCCHESNEY STAUNTON, VA Robert Bob McChesney, 83, husband of Doris (Hunter) McChesney of Waverley Green, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at his residence. He was born August 23, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Charles and Gladys (Rutherford) McChesney. Mr. McChesney was a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, 1952, with a BS degree in Business. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He was employed in regional sales for the Colgate Palmolive Company and later worked in the Corrugated Paper Industry as a regional sales manager. After retirement, he continued part-time employment in sales of pallet packaging products in the Shenandoah Valley. Mr. McChesney was a member of the Staunton V.F.W. Post 2216 where he previously served as a commander. He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife of 57 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. McChesney and Shelley McChesney of California; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn McChesney and Benjamin Rubalcaba of Baltimore, MD; a brother, Charles R. McChesney of Morristown, NJ: and four grandchildren. Mr. McChesney requested cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
