Ronald H. Ritchie

Ronald “Ronnie” Houff Ritchie, 77, husband of Carolyn S. Ritchie, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Ritchie was born on December 29, 1944 in Miami Beach, FL to the late Joseph William and Geneva (Houff) Ritchie.

He was married to his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, for 58 years.

Ronnie retired from Reynolds after 33 years as their purchasing agent. He served on Augusta County Parks and Recreation Commission for many years and was a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren where he served as a cemetery trustee. He was also an active member of Weyers Cave Ruritan Club for over 50 years.

He was an avid golfer and member of Lakeview Golf Club where he loved playing with his golf gang at least several times a week. Ronnie enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports in high school and, in recent years, watching them as coaches. He was very proud of all of his grandsons and their accomplishments.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Harris (Randy) and Renea Harlow; a brother, Barry W. Ritchie (Glenda); a sister, Teri Ritchie Sumey; grandchildren, Tyler Harris and fiancé Whitney and her son Peyton, Kyle Harris and wife Ellie, Bryce Harlow and wife Sarah, Clay Harris, and Bailey Harlow; and great-granddaughter Teagan Harris.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Friday, April 15, 2022 at Henry Funeral Home and, at their residence at other times.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 16, 2022 by Pastor Daniel House.
