Sarah Frances Jones, 92, widow of Fred Leonard Jones passed away on January 7, 2023, at Shenandoah House, Augusta Health.
Sarah was born on August 7, 1930, in Augusta County to James Charles and Hattie Jane Johnson.
Sarah worked Holsom Bakery and Western State. She was an active member at Promised Land Christian Fellowship Church, 850 Maple St., Staunton, Virginia 24401, where she served as an Usher and Church Mother.
She deeply loved her family and church and thoroughly enjoyed time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce L. Jones, Deborah Jane Strother, and Hattie Carpenter, and her grandson, Teddy L. Jones. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her beloved dog, Frances.
She is preceded in death by her sons, Fred Leonard Jones, Jr., William “Timmy” Thomas Jones, and Charles Martin Jones.
A funeral service will be held at Henry Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2023, with Pastor Elaine Rose officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
