Sarah "Sally" F. Jones
Sara Frances “Sally” Jones, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Augusta Health.
Sally was born September 23, 1937, the daughter of William Fleming Jones and Argyle V. (Snyder) Jones. Sally spent her early life in Washington, D.C., moving to Staunton with her family as a teenager. Sally worked for Dr. Randolph Shields, in the Augusta County General District Court, and for Premier Properties. Sally volunteered with the Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad and the Happy Birthday USA Committee.
Miss Jones was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Wondrak.
She is survived by a sister, Geraldine Henne, of Connecticut; two nieces, Linda Gulak of North Carolina and Janet Redinger of Connecticut, and five nephews, Walter, Scott, Christopher, and Vincent Wondrak of Kansas, and Craig Henne of South Carolina, as well as nine great nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Thornrose Cemetery with the Reverend Pat Hunt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad, 1601 N Coalter St., Staunton, VA 24401.
Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
