Shelby Hinkle Fridley
Shelby Jean (Hinkle) Fridley, 64, wife of David L. Fridley, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at UVA in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Fridley was born on April 13, 1958 in Rockbridge County to Anna Mae (Gentry) Hinkle and the late Andrew Oliver Hinkle, Sr.
Shelby last worked in medical coding at Augusta Family Practice. Prior to that, she was employed for 20 years at Grand Piano.
In addition to her husband of 45 years and her mother, she is survived by a son, Darrell Wayne Fridley of SC; a brother, Ronnie Lee Hinkle; a twin sister, Shelia Shifflett (Kenny); her brother-in-law, Steven S. Fridley of Staunton; her sister-in-law, Minn A. of Georgia; a very special sister-in-law, Charlotte Fridley Fitzgerald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Oliver Hinkle, Jr., and a sister, Peggy Hinkle Cole, and her husband, Sam.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 2, 2022 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lewis Brian McDaniel and Rev. Luke Smith. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Highland County Volunteer Rescue Squad, 50 Fleisher Avenue, Monterey, Virginia, 24465.
