Sidney B. Patterson

Harriette “Sidney” (Ballew) Patterson, 80, widow of Harry Lewis Patterson, passed away on October 11, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on April 20, 1941 in Waynesboro, Virginia to the late Sidney Earl and Hattie (Evans) Ballew.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of Mint Spring United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She is survived by her daughters, Laurie Nolley (Kevin) and Kelly Cook (Donald); her grandchildren, Eliza (Jeremy) Biby, Maddie Nolley, Mallory (Jonathan) Lacks, and Callie Cook; her great grandchildren, Harper Nolley, Ryann Lacks, Remy Athey, Loren Biby, and Kelly Lacks; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Ballew, Jamie Ballew, and Donald Ballew; and her sisters, Mildred Furr, Jean Bosserman, and Margaret Harmon. Sidney was the youngest of seven children and last of her immediate family.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, October 14. 2021 at 2:00 P.M at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Benson, Tommy Benson, Keith Bosserman, Martha Sparks, and Ned Sparks.
