Sonya Faye Brown, 50, passed away on November 22, 2021 at her home.
Sonya was born on April 5, 1971 in Bath County to Diana (Hodge) Wilson and the late Robert Hampton Varner.
She is survived by her sons, Tyler S. Brown and Ryan S. Varner; her daughter Tiffany D. Brown; her brother James Burris III; her grandchildren, Austin Varner and Bentley Tanner; her special aunt, Patsy Hupman; and her best friend who was like a sister, Sandy Martin.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister Shelby Jean Varner.
Sonya wore her heart on her sleeve, and she never met a stranger. Although she was birth mom to three children, she was Momma Sonya to many. She was also known as Aunt Sonnie to so many others. If she knew you, she loved you and she loved you unconditionally. Sonya enjoyed nothing more than the simple things in life, a ride in the country, sitting and talking with friends and family. She would give you the shirt off her back. She wanted nothing more than to care for others and be sure everyone was okay. She will be greatly missed by many, and her spirit will live on in all the dear loved ones, friends and family alike of their lives that she has touched.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 6 – 8 P.M. at Henry Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 @ 11:00 A.M. at the Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
