Stephen Ray Marshall

STEPHEN R. MARSHALL STAUNTON, VA Stephen "Stevie" Ray Marshall, 49, of 2108 Orange Street, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at his residence. He was born September 12, 1961, in Staunton a son of the late George Washington and Bertha Ellen (Tuning) Marshall. Mr. Marshall was employed by Smiley Tile for 20 years and most recently with B.S. Construction. Family members include a daughter, Stephanie Marshall; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Judy K. and Dave Garber of Bridgewater, Kathy D. Harris and her companion, Dennis Smith of Verona, and Jackie L. and Jerry Messer of Julian, WV; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Debbie Marshall and George and Sandy Marshall, all of Staunton; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; a dear nephew, Howard Moyers; dear nieces, Sonya and Monica; a special dear companion, Joyce Mitchell, whom he loved. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Dale Marshall. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charles Griffin. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joe Tuning, Billy Tuning, Gary Marshall, Delmas Marshall, Lynn Marshall, and Gary Sprouse. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, in the funeral home.
