Steven Andrew Bolt, 55, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, unexpectedly at his residence in Greenville, VA.
He was born on July 2, 1969, in Fredericksburg, VA to the late Paul Earl Bolt and Carole Lee Whitehead Bolt Hylton.
He was a member of the Courtland High School Class of 1988 and held a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
He worked for State Farm Insurance as an underwriter for twenty-five years.
Steve was an active member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon, sharing his time, talents, and faith with his church family.
A true sports enthusiast, Steve had a special passion for football, particularly his unwavering support of the Washington Commanders. He could often be found cheering them on, whether it was on game day or with friends and family. Beyond the physical field, he also loved getting involved with fantasy football. Steve’s love for sports extended beyond football, as he also enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Steve also looked forward to the annual family trip to the beach every year. It was a tradition that brought him immense joy, and he relished the time spent with his loved ones by the ocean, creating lasting memories.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Ann Sweet Bolt; his son, Ethan Nicholas Bolt; his daughter, Peyton Grace Bolt Rockafellow and her husband, Justin; his brother, Brian Edward Bolt and his wife, Pam; his grandson, James Daniel Rockafellow; his uncle, Doctor Barry Whitehead; and numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton, VA.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Wayne Hills Baptist Church in Waynesboro, VA with the Reverend Doctor Jamie McClanahan officiating.
A private burial will follow at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern, VA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Arey, Brian Bolt, Ashton Kessler, Michael Kessler, Justin Rockafellow, and Jake Sweet. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Arey, Rodney Kessler, Lyle Sweet, Jr., and Doctor Barry Whitehead.
