Susan G. Lowney

Susan Grey Trainum Lowney, 62, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Envoy of Staunton.

She was born on September 8, 1960 in Arlington, Virginia to the late Donald Ashby and Carolyn Latimer Grey Trainum.

On May 2, 1998 she married her beloved husband, Randy J. Lowney who preceded her in death on December 28, 2004.

Susan graduated in the class of 1978 from Robert E. Lee High School and attended Blue Ridge Community College. Her career was based in the hotel industry as a hospitality worker where she was granted numerous rewards for her outstanding performance and highly commended for her dedicated attendance. She loved the beach, traveling, going to movies and attending her church. She was a devoted Christian and served on a mission trip to Beligum. She was a member of Staunton Grace Covenant Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and other numerous ministries.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her brother, Robert G. Trainum, nieces, Kimberly G. Trainum and Kathryn R. Trainum and nephew, Robert G. Trainum II, along with numerous cousins including a special cousin, Ann Vargo, whom she traveled with, and her life-long friend, Cindy Kelley.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Staunton Grace Covenant Church, 410 West Beverley Street, Staunton, VA at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Steve Paulus.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to the Dementia Society in her memory by donating online ( www.dementiasociety.org ) or by mail (P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901).
