Susan (Slusher) Obenschain, 93, widow of William B. Obenschain, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Summit Square in Waynesboro.
She was born February 18, 1928, daughter of the late Peter B. and Pearl Slusher.
Sue was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Family includes her son, Thomas Obenschain of Richmond; granddaughter, Maxine Balling and husband Erik, of Coalinga, California; great grandchildren, Allie and Justin; and nephew William Slusher of Staunton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Obenschain; two sons, Samuel “Kirk” and Peter Obenschain; daughter, Alice Obenschain; and three brothers, John, William, and Peter Slusher.
Any relatives and acquaintances moved to attend are most welcome Tuesday, March 30th at 1:00 pm at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2807 North Augusta St., Staunton VA, 24401. The Rev. Robert D. McCarty, Pastor, will preside.
After consideration, the Family has reluctantly decided to forego any following dinner at Christ Lutheran due to COVID concerns. Likewise, all appropriate measures regarding masks and distancing will be observed at the service for the safety of all concerned.
So, those of you who knew or knew of Sue, please join us March 30th as we honor our late great Matriarch. (At her wishes, Sue's ashes will be interred alongside her late husband William Obenschain at a later date.)
