Sydney E. Trott, Jr.

Sydney Edwards “Eddie” Trott, Jr., 85, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

He was born on April 3, 1939, in Staunton, to the late Sydney Edwards, Sr. and Katharine Wilson Trott.

Sydney dedicated his life to serving his community. His passion was spent serving as a police officer for twenty-five years. He retired in 2000 as the Staunton City Sherriff. 

Sydney was fondly known for his kindness, quick wit, and zest for life. He will most be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Reva Rowe “Jeri” Trott; his son, Eddie Trott, III; his daughter, Heather Trott Bellows and her husband, Kenneth; his two grandchildren, Lexi and Khloe, along with many other loving family members.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Bernard Trott; his sister, Harriett Wilson Trott Sandy and a granddaughter, Haleigh E. Bellows.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Henry Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend John Craft officiating.
