FISHERSVILLE, VA… Thelma (Hanger) Ratcliff, 95, of Staunton, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Shenandoah Nursing Home. She was born December 9, 1920, in Staunton, a daughter of the late Alexander W. Hanger and Bertha (Euting) Hanger-Britt. Family members include a son, Joseph Garrett Ratcliff and wife, Brenda, of Staunton; a daughter, Linda Yeago of Staunton; six grandchildren, Amy Gunter, Shad and Brock Yeago, Erin Ratcliff, Anna Floriano, and Tony Cooke; eight great grandchildren, Braxton, Kayla, Brooklyn, Madison, and Colby Yeago, Chasity Dixey-Dingus, and Justin and Andrew Henderson; one great, great grandchild, Kitson, Ratcliff Eckard; one brother, Robert A. “Wythe” Hanger of Staunton; a daughter-in-law, Sheryl Ratcliff; and a special friend, Mary Sours. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ratcliff; two brothers, George A. Hanger and John A. Hanger; and three sisters, Frances H. Robertson, Viola Booth, and Louise Bush. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Harold W. “Pete” Campbell. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
