Thomas Wilbourn Fultz, Jr., 88, of Staunton, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Regency at Augusta Assisted Living and Memory Care in Fishersville, VA.
He was born on June 10, 1936, in Rockbridge County, VA, to the late Thomas Wilbourn, Sr. and Mary "Libby" Elizabeth Ramsey Fultz.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Adis Wilson Coffey Fultz. Thomas and Adis were married for 63 wonderful years.
Thomas was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. His military service instilled in him values of discipline and commitment, which he carried forward throughout his personal and professional life.
He had a fulfilling career with Columbia Gas of Virginia in Staunton, eventually retiring and embarking on a new venture that would come to define his later years. With a passion for the outdoors and working with his hands, Thomas owned and operated his own bush hogging business until the remarkable age of 83. This business was not just a means of livelihood for him; it was a labor of love, allowing him to connect with the land and contribute positively to his community.
He was also a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Stuarts Draft, VA.
Thomas is survived by his sons, Curtis Fultz and his wife, Li, of Staunton, VA, and Daniel Fultz and his wife, Jody, of Stuarts Draft, VA; his granddaughters, Stephanie Fultz of Staunton, VA and Michelle Fultz of Sterling, VA; his sister, Patricia "Patsy" Fultz Groah of Raphine, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton, VA with Pastor Don McClure officiating.
Interment at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery will be private.
It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to Ridgeview Christian School (124 Ridgeview Drive, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477).
