Thomas R. Snider

Thomas Ray Snider, 85, born on May 20, 1938 in Fairfield, passed away on June 21, 2023 at The Legacy at North Augusta in Staunton.

Tom worked hard as a factory worker at DuPont in Waynesboro for many years prior to his well-deserved retirement in 1993.

Although he loved his job, Tom also had a passion for golf. His inherent talent for the sport allowed him to win various tournaments mainly held at Gypsy Hill. Tom showed everyone how enjoyable life could be through his love of the game. He also embodied the values of an Eagle Scout that guided him throughout his life.

Aside from golfing, family and friends knew that Tom took great pride in owning immaculate vehicles that shone like diamonds at all times. This was just one example of how much Tom cared about taking care of what he owned.

He is survived by his son, Michael W. Snider and his wife, Kim; his cousins, Becky Upton and Joan Miller and her husband, Frank; his nephews, Douglas Mitchell and his wife, Brenda, Dennis Mitchell and his wife, Faith, and Donald Mitchell and his wife, Donna; his grandchildren, Savannah Snider and Taylor Ann Snider; and two great-grandchildren.

Tom joins his father, William Preston Snider; his mother, Pauline Hazel Thompson Snider; and his sister, Betty Jane Snider Mitchell, in eternal rest.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Henry Funeral Home.
