Vera Esther Hern

VERA L. HERN STAUNTON, VA Vera Esther (Long) Hern, 80, wife of Thomas Hern, Sr., of 810 Wren Street, died Friday, September 2, 2011, at King's Daughters Rehab Center. She was born March 9, 1931, in Renick, WV a daughter of the late William Gustie and Mary Elizabeth (Keene) Long. She was a member of the Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church in Covington. She was a good wife, mother, and friend. In addition to her husband, family members include a son, Thomas P. Hern, Jr. of Verona; a daughter, Jennie H. Kile of Florida; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. At her wish she was cremated and there will be no public viewing, visitation or services. The family request that there be no flowers or memorials, just say a prayer for her when you have a quiet few minutes.
