Virginia Kessler Gregory went to her Lord on May 7, 2022. Born in Centerburg, Ohio on November 11, 1919, she was an Augusta County resident since moving here early in life. Prior to moving to a nursing home in Fishersville, Virginia several years ago, she resided almost her entire life in Staunton, Virginia. She served for many years as a kindergarten teacher and attended classes at Blue Ridge Community College. She was a long-time member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. One of her prized possessions was a quilt showing her church windows made by her daughter-in-law Melinda Gregory. She also attended First Baptist Church in Staunton with family members.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Cliff E. Gregory, and her daughter, Jane Gregory Ruch, as well as her three brothers, Ambrose B. Kessler, Charles Allen Kessler, and James “Bud” Kessler. She is survived by her two sons, Dennis E. Gregory (wife Melinda Gregory), Norfolk, Virginia; and Matthew W. Gregory (wife Janice Gregory), Roanoke, Virginia; and her son-in-law Michael Ruch, Fishersville, Virginia.
Grandchildren include Alexis Gregory and Sarah Gregory (husband Douglas Arnold); Christopher Gregory (wife Ariel Gregory); Joseph Ruch (wife Chrissy Ruch); and Carrie Ruch Holsinger (husband Travis Holsinger).
Great-grandchildren include Ethan Holsinger, Lucas Holsinger, Jack Holsinger, Jacob Holsinger, Noah Law, Tallulah Ruch, Kellen Ruch, Charlie Ruch, Alex Ruch, Alyssa Rosenberger, Brooklyn Rosenberger, Thomas Silvius, Christopher Silvius, Michael Silvius, Jacob Silvius, Shaun Gregory, Khoulsen Gregory, Maverick Kelley, and Jada Lee Kinsey.
Other family members include sister-in-law, Ruby Kessler; nephew, Rodney Kessler; Lois Ruch, Betsy Gregory, Fran Crone, Terry Noble, Steven Kinsey, Tiffany Kinsey, David Bonner, and Samuel Bonner.
Special friends include Lorainne Bosserman, David Lowman, Donna Kirtley, Linda Brown, Bobby Vandevander, Dana Bibby, Jim Fauber, and all the caring staff at Shenandoah Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.
