Vivian Christine Butt

VIVIAN H. BUTT STAUNTON, VA Vivian Christine (Harris) Butt, 99, widow of Henry C. Butt, of 1900 Hillsmere Lane, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Emeritus of Staunton. She was born February 15, 1912, in Horton, Alabama, a daughter of the late James A. and Jo Lee (Hayes) Harris. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Butt was employed by the Alabama School System as a teacher. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, James S. and Sylvia Butt of Mt. Sidney; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Robert F. Edwards of Freeport, Florida; four grandchildren, Ian Marshall, Robert F. Edwards, Jr., Neil Butt, and William Edwards; four great grandchildren, Robert F. Edwards, III, Alexander Edwards, Greyson & Vaughn Marshall; and a great, great granddaughter, Emma Edwards. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
