Walter Otto Weber, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at his residence in Craigsville. 

Born in Dickinson, North Dakota on April 28, 1947, to the late Otto Emil and Phyllis Irene Gates Weber, he lived a life characterized by loving dedication to his family and an unwavering commitment to his faith.

For many years, he was associated with the General Electric Company and most recently with Federated Auto in Staunton. His diligence and expertise were evident in every task he undertook. Above all, Walter was passionate about using his hands to create and build, reflecting his belief in the value of hard work and craftsmanship.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Walter served honorably aboard the USS Rankin. His service was marked by distinguished recognition, including the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He carried the pride of his military experience throughout his life, embodying the values of honor and duty.

Walter’s spirit resonated far beyond his professional life. He was a strong and mighty prayer warrior, dedicated to spreading the Gospel and caring for others. He found great joy in singing gospel music and was often heard sharing his beautiful voice, accompanied by his guitar. His love for music was a central part of his personal ministry and a source of inspiration to those around him.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Marie Williams and her husband, Bruce; his grandchildren, Landon, Dawson, Kinsley, and Bailey Williams; his brother, William Henry Weber and his wife, Monica; his sisters, Ruth Arlene Weber Farnsworth and Mary Lou Weber Thurston and her husband, Raymond; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dear friend, Cindy Powell and her children, Wendi Sprouse, Faye Pearson, and Richard Fox.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Linda Weber Carleton.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church in Staunton with the Pastor Eric Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM. 

Interment will follow at Craigsville Cemetery.
