William Murray Ballew, 77, passed away at his home in Philipsburg, Montana on Wednesday, August 30th.
Bill was born in Mint Spring to Robert Murray Ballew and Mary Coiner Ballew in 1946, and lived the majority of his life in the Shenandoah Valley.
He graduated from Riverheads High School and attended Ferrum College before returning to the area.
Bill started Ballew Construction and spent most of his career building and renovating homes. He also served as a hunting guide in Montana as hunting was his true passion. After retirement, Bill moved to Philipsburg, Montana and continued to guide and hunt for many years.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Murray and his mother, Mary.
He leaves behind a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy & Alan Martin, two sons and their wives: Marlin & Holly Ballew of Richmond, VA, and Darren & Stephanie Ballew of Fishersville, VA, and four grandchildren: Collin, Molly, Allison and Max Ballew, with numerous cousins and friends to remember the times that were shared.
Bill chose to be cremated and remain in Montana where a private ceremony is planned.
