STAUNTON, VA…
William “Bill” Carl Franson, 91, beloved husband of Cecille Neale Franson, of Linden Drive, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
He was born on July 22, 1929 in Bath County, the son of John Algot and Nellie (Blankenship) Franson.
Mr. Franson worked many years for Gravely Tractor in Fishersville, Cohen’s Hardware in Stuarts Draft and Pleasant View Lawn and Home Care in Staunton.
He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by a son, Edward “Eddie” M. Benson of Staunton; a daughter, Debra K. Bashlor and husband Robert of Waynesboro; a daughter, Alisa F. Moats and husband Randy of Great Falls, MT; six grandchildren, Amanda O’Neill, Kristen Keebaugh, Tyler Benson, Cassidy Benson, Daryl Moats and Alana Frederick; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Ann Puffenbarger; three brothers; and six sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Gene and Linda Arey. The family will receive friends following the service in the funeral home.
Burial will be private in Sangersville Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
